The U.S. Ambassador Visited Tham Hin Refugee Camp

The Ambassador of U.S. Embassy: Kenney visited Tham Hin refugee camp in Ratchaburi province. Tham Hin refugee camp is home to nearly 8,000 Burmese, the majority of whom are members of the Karen ethnic group, who have fled war in their na-tive land. During her visit, Ambassador Kenney met with NGO’s and talked with camp refugees. In addition, the Ambassador visited the camp’s health clinic, food supply center, and main water source. The U.S. government funds health, environmental, water and sanitation, food, shelter, capacity building programs that benefit the refugees. At the end of the day, Ambassador Kenney interviewed with two journalists to discuss U.S. policy towards refugees. During the interview, the Ambassador said the U.S. government is committed to assisting refugees and will continue funding programs that benefit the refugees. Some of Finest Glassworks and Silverware From Sweden Come to Thailand

On 20 September, 2011 The Ambassador Klas Molin attended an exhibition launched by Scandinavian Collection Co.,Ltd. to introduce Swedish glassworks and silverwares from Orrefors, KostaBoda, Gense and MemaGab to the Thai market. Among the items on display in the exhibition are cutlery designed by H.R.H. Prince Carl Philip of Sweden and new table glass ware designed by Karl Lagerfeld. Also on display is some of the cutlery used at the annual Noble Prize Dinner. Scandinavian Collection is looking to appoint local partners to further distribution in Thailand. Among the invited guests were Mrs. Abah Kridakon and her daughter, M.L. Laksasubha Kridakon, the owner of Baan Laksasubha resort.

New Viet Nam consulate in New York

The Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Nguyen Quoc Cuong and Head of the Vietnamese Permanent Delegation to United Nations, Ambassador Le Hoai Trung, also attended the inaugural ceremony.
